Health

It has been quite a tough week in my house, with all the health issues my family (especially my sister). It would seem that our family has some heavy chronic health issues.

My sister recently got diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). To make a long story short, she has inflammation in her joints, and the pain is so great she can't even walk or get out of bed some days. It is very unlikely she will die from it, however, her immune system will be weaker (and we've been told that she has a 2% higher chance of cancer), and so she has to see a doctor the moment she feels sick.

I've always had asthma my entire life (okay, since age seven). Asthma is nowhere near as bad as my sister's RA though. For one, I can control asthma a lot more easier than she can control her RA. In addition, my asthma just pops out every once in a while. Normally I have a bad month in the entire year (typically October due to allergies). But this weekend, I had another asthma attack, and I had to go to the hospital (no, it was nothing bad), because my inhaler was outdated two years. Fun. Real fun.

In addition, our entire family has extremely bad allergies. My mom takes allergy shots because her allergies are so severe. I believe my sister will be taking shots as well due to her RA. Myself, on the other hand, just has minor seasonal allergies.

And now I ask my followers, what chronic diseases have you been diagnosed with? Any allergies?

Until my next post,

Call of Duty and other Xbox 360 Things

I'd be quite scared if some video gamer on the Xbox 360 (or even the Playstation 3) told me they didn't know what Call of Duty was. Call of Duty is only the most well known and respected war game series you will find on the video consoles.

I've been busy this weekend trying to rack up some XP on Black Ops on Xbox 360. So far, it has been going well. I've managed to finally unlock four different "pros": Lightweight, Ghost, Sleight of Hand, and Hardline. I'm also pretty close on Marathon Pro and Flask Jacket Pro. Hope to have those achieved soon. As for actually playing the game, I'm actually not as bad as many people thought I would be. I just achieved level 41 in 20 hours of gameplay. My last round on Capture the Flag (which I hate, but only did it so I could work on unlocking Marathon Pro) at Havana, I scored 6,000 points, and when added up with challenges and bonuses, I received 20,000 experience points at the end of the round. Not bad, eh?

You can also find me occasionally playing COD4 and MW2. I rarely play Call of Duty 4 today since Black Ops is out, but MW2 is still a great game after playing Black Ops. It seems like I can mess around so much more in that game over COD7.

Now for my questions to you guys....... what is your Xbox Gamertag? Which CODs do you own? Are you any good?

Have a great weekend,

Another Perfectly Normal Day Comes to an End

Well, everyday now, I will be making 2+ blog posts. A first one regarding a daily post about random life thoughts and whatever I feel like, and then I will sign off for the day.

Today we end with the old 1979 HBO sign-off. This was a time where HBO wasn't 24/7.

Until tomorrow, Goodnight!

Introducing Twitter

It looks like I'm really seeing this blog from a forum perspective. As I said in the last post, I've never really blogged before. I just have been on forums a lot. So this makes things harder when you first start out. I've been thinking of what might help promote a blog and gain subscribers, and one of my answers was Twitter.

Today, I created a Twitter account to go with this forum. This account will hopefully gain (some) exposure. For those who are interested, my twitter link is above. You can also just click here:

As a question of the day, for those of you who have blogs, what have you done to promote your blog? How successful were you?

Until tomorrow,

Home At Last

Well, I only have one thing I can say. It is really about time.

Creating this blog has long been a goal (and sort of a dream) for me. I have been into the internet for a long time.  I started "foruming" in the year 2004. Now look, it is 2010, and the world has truly changed. Forums appear to slowly decrease in trends while blogs are on the rise. I expect in the next five years, blogs will become more popular than forums. But, you'll never know. I'll just need to meet the world.

Anyways, I just wanted to make a quick welcome to "Jack Meets World", a new blog all about up-to-date thoughts about life, and how to make some use out of it from a tech savvy perspective.

Enjoy!

Signed,
Jack
